Keep the news
in your own workspace.
These two guided checks do not need your draft. You select answers about the information it contains.
What happens to your answers
The Comms Brief Checker and Announcement Gap Check run in your browser. Your selections and results are not submitted to Heather Vaughn, sent to an AI provider, or saved by these tools to a server. There is no AI model or model training involved. The tools use a fixed set of checks to organize your next questions.
The answers and result remain in the current page. The tool does not deliberately save them in browser storage. Use “Clear answers & result” to remove them from the page. Your browser may restore a page or form during session recovery; on a shared device, clear the page and close the tab when you finish.
How the three free checks are counted
Each tool stores a number from zero to three in this browser’s local storage. That number is the only information these checks deliberately persist. There is no account, email address, draft, or answer history attached to it. It stays until the browser’s site data is cleared; it has no automatic expiry. The allowance applies per tool, per browser, not per identified person or across devices. Clearing site data or using another browser resets the allowance.
If local storage is blocked or unavailable, the counter lasts only while the page remains open. A completed check uses one run; unchanged answers shown again in the same page session and fictional examples do not use additional runs.
Website visits and hosting
Loading these pages still makes an ordinary website request to Netlify, the site’s hosting provider. Hosting logs and server-side site analytics may record visit information such as an IP address, browser details, requested page, and time. That is separate from your answers, which stay in the page. These check pages do not run advertising trackers, session recordings, or third-party scripts. Their security policy also blocks the performance-monitoring script injected by the hosting provider. Netlify’s privacy policy explains its handling of service data.
Saving or sharing a result
“Save result” creates a text file on your device. Printing or saving as PDF uses your browser’s print controls. Those copies remain wherever you save them and are subject to your device, cloud-sync, and sharing settings. The tool does not automatically attach answers or results to contact links. Visiting another page or contacting Heather is a separate action.
Use within your organization’s policies
Do not enter confidential company information, personal employee details, or unpublished news. These tools provide selection buttons rather than an upload or text box. Keep the source material in your approved workspace and follow your organization’s policies for external tools.
Scope and questions
This notice applies only to these two free guided checks. Cascade, Signal Suite, Ground Crew, linked services, and any future AI draft-review feature have separate data-handling requirements.
