Website analytics & privacy

Updated October 24, 2026

Your choice

Optional Google Analytics is off until you select Allow analytics. Declining has no effect on the website or tools. Use Analytics privacy at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep optional analytics off.

What is measured

With permission, Google Analytics records page visits, engagement, referring website origins, selected campaign labels, aggregate device and geographic information, and selected actions: resume-page views, resume PDF clicks, Cascade one-pager clicks, consulting-page visits, email or telephone link clicks, LinkedIn clicks, and tool or product links. A click does not prove a download completed, an email was sent, or a person applied or bought something.

Analytics does not read tool inputs, form fields, answers, results, email addresses, or link text. Page addresses exclude query strings and fragments. Referrers are reduced to their website origin. Only simple utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign labels may be measured; never put personal or confidential information in campaign labels.

Cookies and retention

Your analytics preference is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. If allowed, first-party Google Analytics cookies are set for up to 90 days without extending their expiry on each visit. These support aggregate estimates of new and returning visitors; they do not identify a named individual. Clearing cookies, changing devices, declining consent, and blockers affect these estimates. Withdrawing consent stops analytics and removes this website's analytics cookies; it cannot retract data already processed.

No advertising profiles or personal visitor identification

This implementation disables Google signals and ad personalization signals and denies advertising storage and advertising use consent. There are no session recordings, cross-device user IDs, or attempts to identify individual visitors or their employers. Google and Netlify process ordinary network requests, including IP addresses; Google Analytics reports aggregate geography rather than revealing visitor IPs. See Google privacy and Netlify privacy.

Tools have separate processing

Analytics is separate from tool operation. See guided-check privacy and the notices on Heatcheck before entering material. Optional analytics never includes that material.
