Heatcheck applies the idea of the hot-cold empathy gap from George Loewenstein’s work: people can underestimate how a different emotional state shapes another person’s experience. This tool applies that idea to employee messages; it is not a validated psychological test or a claim that Loewenstein studied employee communications.
It looks for threat signals, ambiguity gaps, buried employee impact, false reassurance, cognitive load, and uncertainty without a next step. Difficult news should stay clear. Missing facts should stay missing until someone can confirm them.

Heatcheck pressure-tests one message. It supports the work around Decision → Governance → Cascade → Listening; it adds no new pillar. Ground Crew remains a separate product line for individual practitioners.
Before you paste.
This is an AI-assisted review. Your pasted message and optional context are sent to a Netlify Function and an AI provider for processing. The tool does not save your pasted message or generated revision to browser storage, a database, or application logs. A usage count is saved in this browser to track five free completed checks; clearing browser data resets that count. If storage is unavailable, the allowance applies to this open page. Feedback you choose to submit is stored separately in Heather’s Netlify project, without attaching your draft or revision. Hosting and AI providers have their own processing and retention practices; this is not a promise of zero retention or confidential handling.
Use a fictional or de-identified message. Review every finding and rewrite against your approved facts before sending. Clearing the form removes the text and results from this page; it does not undo processing already performed.
